Every day, hundreds of cases and matters are decided in the courts across Sweden. Our organization consists of employees with different competencies, each of whom is significant in maintaining legal security and high quality at all levels.
Skaraborg District Court is located in modern and bright premises in central Skövde, close to the transport center. Skaraborg District Court is one of the larger medium-sized district courts and has just over 55 employees, half of whom are lawyers.
Skaraborg District Court has two case units that handle criminal cases, civil cases, and matters, and a service unit that is responsible for administration, reception, security, and registration of new cases.

The work involves
As a summer clerk, your work will include participating in the preparation of cases and matters, taking minutes during hearings, drafting proposals for judgments and decisions, as well as conducting legal research. If possible, you will also prepare written summaries for main hearings in civil cases, known as briefs.
Qualification requirements
The criteria for applying for the position of summer clerk are that you have passed at least up to and including the fifth term of the law program at the time of application. You must have completed and passed the courses in procedural law as well as criminal and civil law in your legal education. You must have at least one term left of the law program after the employment period.
We are looking for candidates with good grades from completed parts of the legal education as well as good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. Other important qualities include attention to detail, analytical ability, good teamwork skills, and the ability to organize and plan your work.
On-site interviews are generally not conducted for this short-term employment, and great importance will be placed on your cover letter, your grades, and your responses to the questionnaire, as well as how you motivate your interest in working as a summer clerk at our court. A digital interview may be conducted for shortlisted candidates in early February (tentatively weeks 6-7).

We are looking for one or more summer clerks for a fixed-term employment of 10 weeks during the summer of 2026. The employment is full-time during weeks 25-34.
